What is an Escape Room?
An Escape Room is a live action team-based event to look for clues and solve problems. Catherine created Escape Rooms Jamestown because of consulting burnout. She realized that she loved playing games and enjoyed turning something mundane into something fun!
She looked at the area and decided that Jamestown needed one and there was a market for this type of recreational activity.
Our Lady of Atocha Escape Room
In 1622, the Spanish ship Our Lady of Atocha, loaded with precious coins, gems, and jewels was ravaged by a hurricane and sunk. You have 45 minutes to locate the shipwreck and find the most valuable collection of jewels that were stored in the Captain’s cabin.

You have steeled yourself away in the King Tut exhibit after normal closing hours. Can you find the Gilded Box and Escape before security kicks you out?

Screech Owl Escape at the Audubon
Scarlet wants to join your party, but she is locked in her nesting box. Can you help her Escape? The Audubon Nature Center at 1600 Riverside Road in Jamestown NY is the site of our newest Escape. The Screech Owl Escape is designed with children in mind and is suitable for ages 8+. The Escape takes advantage of the Audubon’s magical 3 story facility and many existing exhibits to make this a full immersion Escape.
The typical person who uses an Escape Room is anyone 12-112. It is something for everyone! According to Catherine, the best way to have a successful escape is have varied genders, ages and interests.
There are strict COVID standards for workers and Escapees. There is extensive cleaning after each escape. Escape Rooms Jamestown also promotes hand sanitizing, and each person must get their temperature taken before entering.
Each room can accommodate 8 people. We can have 32 ppl in the facility and reservations are required for mass groups.
Occupancy is very low right now due to COVID restrictions. 75% of reservations have come from outside the 14701 zip code. Catherine is constantly trying to find ways to get the word out about Escape Rooms Jamestown. They are doing some cross promotions with the restaurant, 4 Below, which is right next door, and she is also encouraging team-building events and is partnering with Diana Scott and Studio D for Holiday events.
Escape Rooms Jamestown will also be adding a Children’s Escape in February 2021. They will also have common space for birthdays and paint and sip nights in 2021.
