CHAIRMAN: Kevin Sixbey accompanied by his lovely wife Megan

DETAILS: COCKTAILS AND CONVERSATION AT THE CHOP HOUSE

Michelle Jones and her fellow Social Committee members Lisa Goodell, Vicki McGraw, Deb Kathman, Melissa Meyers, Kathy Burch, Cheri Krull, Ruth Lundin and Irene Dobies) hosted a lovely evening get-together at The Chop House, East Second Street, which was beautifully decorated for the holiday season with jazz music by the “Razz” Rasmussen combo wafting through the building from the balcony of the dining room.

Our Club members were welcomed by Secretary Lisa Goodell and her husband Andy who offered 50/50 tickets for sale. Jim Krull won the drawing and he donated $20 of his winnings back to the Club. Our own waitress kept the libations flowing as each person/couple was responsible for their own tab, which worked out very nicely.

President Kevin was on hand to welcome everyone to the gathering, and he was especially delighted to welcome in person, Jim Bauman and his wife Beth. Jim has joined us by ZOOM before. He is the immediate Past President of a club in Bermuda. He and his wife Beth Carlson Bauman (she was born and raised in Jamestown) have retired to her family’s home in Chautauqua Escapes. He hopes to join our Club as soon as he has fulfilled his obligations as Past President to his Bermuda Club. WELCOME TO THE BAUMANS!

Pat Kinney, Sharon Hamilton and Ruth Lundin shared a cozy table by the lovely, decorated fireplace as they discussed the week’s events and upcoming Rotary A ‘Capella concert on December 6.

PLEASE REMEMBER THE CONCERT BEGINS AT 11:30 UPSTAIRS IN THE NAVE to accommodate the students’ schedule.

Lunch will be served following the concert at a cost of $15/person. Payment can be made at the check-in table by cash, check or card.

PLEASE RSVP TO KEVIN SIXBEY AT ksixbey@gmail.com to make reservations for you and your guests.

PLEASE REMEMBER: MASKS MUST BE WORN WHENEVER NOT SEATED OR EATING.

Long-time member Dan Overcash, heartily welcomed Golf Chairman Mike Bird and his wife Lori.

Lori Bird shared the directions for her “New Fashioned” drink, a modern twist on the classic cocktail and a specialty of The Chop House.

It contains tequila, brandied cherries, orange bitters, and yuzu juice and is topped off with a generous piece of juicy grapefruit.

Greg Jones welcomed Deke and Deb Kathman back after an extended visit with their grandchildren down south.

It was great to see Cheri Krull again, who has been kept busy working from her home office. She was joined by Lisa Goodell, Jim Smith and Barb and Vince Horrigan.

Former member Matt Jones, husband of Chairman Michelle, welcomed their guests Matt and Kim Spillane to the evening’s festivities.

And of course, our Social Chairman Michelle Jones, left, welcomed Jim Krull, Lisa Yaggie, Jay Yaggie and Stacey Hannon.

I apologize for missing anyone especially Stacey’s guest Barbara Silo, wife of John Silo and bicycle riding partner of Jake Schrantz, who has done so much to further our fund-raising efforts to eradicate POLIO. I have a new camera and it was my first time to use it – their photo simply disappeared!

Many Rotarians and guests stayed for dinner after the cocktail reception.

Also, just before the meeting, this editor had a message from Marissa and David Troxell who are scheduled to have their COVID test Tuesday morning, then fly to Dubai and from there to Pakistan.

GOD SPEED DEAR TROXELLS!!!!

AND A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!
