OUR Club has a Club Assembly currently scheduled for June 20 where we will ratify updated By-laws and hear reports from President Kevin. It has come to our attention that June 20 is the day the federal holiday of Juneteenth will be celebrated. President Kevin would like to hear from YOU as soon as possible if you wish to cancel the Club Assembly or proceed with the meeting as scheduled. Please email him at ksixbey@gmail.com with your preference.

JULY 9 our Club as well as the AM Rotary and Falconer Rotarys have bought all the seats at the Russell Diethrick Stadium for a 6:30 baseball game featuring the TARP SKUNKS against the Elmira Pioneers. WE WILL NEED ALL HANDS ON DECK to man the information table and welcome attendees and answers any questions they may have about Rotary. Mark your calendars now and plan to help out.

SOCIAL CHAIRMAN Michelle Jones reminds us that June 27 will be our Presidential Dinner honoring President Kevin. It will be held at Moon Brook Country Club at 6:00PM and will cost $40 per person – members and guests are welcome. ROTARY GOLF TOURNAMENT is soon coming up August 29. We currently earn 6-$8,000 each year. President Kevin CHALLENGED club members to increase sales of $100 sponsorships by at least twenty. These sponsorships are the easiest to procure, so each of us should be trying to engage businesses and others to help support our efforts by purchasing one. The information is listed on our website.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SIGN UP TO BE A WISH TREE READER. IT WILL TAKE YOU ONLY 30 MINUTES AND IT IS SO BENEFICIAL TO THESE YOUNG CHILDREN. YOU ALL RECEIVED AN EMAIL YESTERDAY WITH THE OPEN TIMES – PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GET INVOLVED IN THIS WORTHWHILE LITERACY PROJECT.
 
MAX EIMILLER HAS VOLUNTEERED TO ASSIST PAT SMERALDO AND LEAD OUR EFFORTS WITH THE CHRISTMAS IN JULY CELEBRATION SCHEDULED FOR JULY 23 ON THE RIVERWALK. Many hands will be needed to design and build a float or display, set it up; help other organizations with the setup of their displays/floats.  Max will keep us posted about plans – if you have any ideas, please contact Max.

Michelle Jones invited everyone to an Open House for the Lucille Ball Little Theatre, TONIGHT, June 6 at the theatre from 6 to 7 PM.

Birthday Table: Sue Jones announced the June Birthday celebrants: Kurt Johnson, June 7; Honorary Member Lucy Miller, June 7; Mike Bird, June 17; Debora Morlock, June 26; and Noah Goodling, June 29.

Sergeant at Arms: Doug Conroe quizzed several tables about the Rotary magazine and then welcomed Happy Bucks…of which there were many.

Happy Bucks:

Deb Kathman paid for missing 5 meetings, their four sons, 4 daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren and all their activities and accomplishments.

Sharon Hamilton paid for granddaughter Annika who won to Steinman/Ney award at JHS and was named Student of the Year.

Vince Horrigan paid for his granddaughter’s graduation summa cum laude from Niceville, FL and her plans to attend college in Florida and continue her swimming prowess as well as her studies.

Vince reminded us all that 78 years ago…D-Day…all the young men who boarded ships on the shores of England to cross the channel to engage in Battle.

Tim Edborg paid for his daughter Brielle’s graduation from Pepperdine Law School.

Greg Jones paid for remembering the anniversary of the day he asked his wife to marry him – 6/6/1966.

Dan Heitzenrater paid for the newspaper tax.

Max Eimiller paid for his brother’s success at the NY State championships.

Hadley Weinberg paid for his first grandchild expected in 8 more weeks and for his son’s engagement. He plans to be in the area all summer as things progress.

Sue Jones saluted Bill and Carole Larson on their 73rd wedding anniversary.

Rich Dixon - Chautauqua County IDA
Kirk Young introduced Rich Dixon, who is starting his 17the year as CFO of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency. Rich grew up in Jamestown and attended Jamestown High School, Jamestown Community College and the SUNY at Fredonia.
He is most proud of his wife Carol and two children who received a wonderful education in Jamestown Public Schools. His daughter Sarah is a physician serving her residency at Vanderbilt University and their daughter Emily who went to FIT and now works for Mack Weldon in New York City.
