Play Read - Greg Peterson, Esq and Judge Grace Hanlon

Becky Robbins introduced our speakers for the meeting who were to present a Play Read of Lucille Ball’s September 4, 1953 testimony in front of investigator William Wheeler of the House Un-American Committee entitled “WAS LUCILLE BALL A RED?”

Greg Peterson has been a partner at Phillips Lytle attorneys for 38 years and is listed in Upstate New York Super Lawyers in America and America’s Leading Lawyers in Business. Greg is a graduate of Allegheny College and the Penn State Dickinson Law School and he co-founded the Robert H. Jackson Center.

Joining Peterson was the Honorable Grace Hanlon, who is our only resident Chautauqua County Supreme Court Judge at this time for the Eighth Judicial District Supreme Court bench. Judge Hanlon has practiced law for 31 years. She is a former first Assistant Chautauqua County District Attorney and previously worked as an assistant public defender. She was confidential law clerk to Chautauqua County Court Judge David Foley.

She is the recipient of an Outstanding Woman in Law Award by the Eighth Judicial District Gender and Racial Fairness Committee and is supported by Stonewall Democrats. She was appointed in 2018 to the Richard C. Failla LGBTQ Commission. Judge Hanlon is a SUNY at Buffalo, with her law degree from Pace Law School.
