GIFT OF LIFE INTERNATIONAL

Thanks to Pat Castiglia for traveling to Jamestown with her cousin and bringing us the message of Gift of Life International.

The 7090 District Gift of Life Board sells chocolate hearts for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day for $10 each – either milk or dark chocolate or orange chocolate.

Gift of Life (GOL) began in 1975 when a Rotary Club on Long Island brought a child from Uganda to the U.S. for heart surgery. The idea spread to a worldwide movement including 77 GOL programs throughout the world. Over 50,000 kids from 78 countries have been treated. District 7090 became a charter member of GOL International in 2011 and has saved 58 children’s’ lives so far.

They are Hector Alverio, owner of the HotSpot Café and Jackie Francis, from The Ashville General Store!
