ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Courtney Curatolo shared an invitation (
click here to download) from the Small Business Development Corp. and UPMC to attend this presentation on April 28. If you have any questions, just contact Courtney.
The ROTARY CLUB OF JAMESTOWN desperately needs a new treasurer effective July 1 (but it would be nice to work with Russ Webb for a few weeks before that). Please search your soul and see if you can take on this important position and help our club.
Earth Day/Week will be coming up in April and Joni and Doug Conroe will soon be announcing a project for us to be involved with.
Highway Cleanup will be coming up in May.
Another Blood Drive will be announced soon. Please save up your extra blood.
Many compliments regarding the District ZOOM Conference held last Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The response was very complimentary and those attending liked the format very much. Congratulations to our Literacy Committee for their recognition of the Lending Libraries in Laudromats and to Past President Cheri for receiving our Presidential Citation.
If you have time, check out Evan Burrell at
www.evanburrell.com – he gave a wonderful presentation titled “Service Minded Superhero” with a passion for social media, on Rotary Clubs needing to change with the times to attract and keep new members.
Another fun presentation was made by a member of the Rotary Brew Fellowship. Check them out at
www.rotarybrew.org.
HAPPY BUCKS:
David Troxell will be presenting a ZOOM meeting to the Karachi, Pakistan Club to introduce them to our club. We hope to be working with that Club on a Polio Immunization Day in indigent areas of their city. Not physically, but we will donate money for supplies for the inoculations.
$5 from Vince for the Op Ed piece in the Post Journal regarding the United Way and the foundations working together to help our communities.
$5 from Amy for Vince’s leadership in the foundation distribution of funds for those needing COVID assistance.
$5 from Denise Jones for World Down Syndrome Day and our Club’s support of the handicap camp experience at Onyahsa.
$5 from Tory Irgang for Vince’s leadership of the Crisis Response Fund.
$5 from Doug Conroe for Denise Jones’ Business First accolades. Also, Doug had dinner with a former Rotarian from our Club who moved and could not attend our club, so he thought he would join another, only to find it was not nearly as welcoming and fun as our club, resulting in his resignation from Rotary. Many compliments to our Club for its warmth and friendship shown to everyone. The Chautauqua Lake Ice Pick fell at 2:52:16 PM on Saturday afternoon. Winners’ names will be forthcoming soon.
