We truly are getting socked for December after a nice, calm Fall! Now that the ski slopes are open for business and have a decent base, it can stop any time!
As you all know, the A’Cappella Concert scheduled for Rotarians on Monday, December 2, had to be cancelled due to a snow day for JPS students.
Marion quickly rescheduled with the school and the church for Weds. at noon and luckily was able to engage our dear Vicki McGraw of Elegant Edibles to provide lunch.
This dress rehearsal presentation by the choir has been a long-time tradition for the Rotary Club of Jamestown, when we welcome in the holiday season by including spouses, friends, neighbors, and business associates at the festive holiday luncheon in the church parlors.
This year, the choir will present 15 performances in and around the community including their special Alumni Vespers performance on SATURDAY, December 14 which already has over 300 registered alumni intending to participate.
Lauren Scharf is the Choir’s Director, and she will be assisted by former directors Norm Lydell and Brian Bogey, who will also accompany the choir together with Gail Espinoza.
Imagine the singing with a choir of nearly 400 voices – it should be truly magical!
RED KETTLE BELL RINGERS NEEDED
This editor sends you a special reminder from Bob Anderson to PLEASE sign up to ring the bell to benefit the programs of the Salvation Army!!!!
I personally took a two-hour shift at Washington St. TOPS on Tuesday afternoon and had so much fun and brought in many, many donations.
This too has been a long-time tradition of our Club. We sign up for 1 ½ or 2-hour shifts and greet our friends and neighbors in the community with special cheer and thanks for their contributions big or small. Many parents would have their children drop coins or dollars in the Red Kettle and then I would invite the children to try their hand at ringing my bell. The smiles were plentiful.
Please contact Bob Anderson at Rba7874@gmail.com or call his cell phone at 716-450-2809 and VOLUNTEER – you will feel better I promise!
