Making this a fun (and worthwhile) event depends on how many show up at the Rt. 60 Park and Ride ready to work at 8:00 AM. We have never had the ideal number of 24 + 2 drivers but there can always be a first. Twelve volunteers works but less than that makes it longer for those who do the "service above self" Rotary thing. So please join us as it actually is fun and I encourage new member to come out and get their feet wet. You can sign up here or let Jeff Know at a meeting where he will also be passing out a sign up sheet.

  • Our area is between Exit 12 (Rt. 60) and Exit 13 (Falconer),approximately 1.8 miles
  • Going from Exit 12 to Exit 13 we start at our adopt a highway sign which is a fair distance from Exit 12 ramp. We mirror that distance doing the reverse Exit 13 towards exit 12. We do not clean up the ramps on either end.
  • The ideal situation, which would mean about one hour of actual clean up time for both sides, is 24 volunteers plus two drivers.
  • Wear hard soled shoes and bring gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather. Bags and vest are provided by the state and are the responsibility of the chairman to have available on the cleanup date. Typically we meet a little before 8:00 AM at the Route 60 Park and ride.
  • Safety is number one so always keep an eye out for traffic and if an object looks too weird to pick up or is too large or heavy leave it where it is.
  • Have fun!!! This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow Rotary members, have the chance to find a new treasure and to put service above self to work in our club.
