Steve Sandberg introduced the speaker for the day – Jamestown Mayor, Eddie Sundquist.
Born in Jamestown, Eddie graduated from Jamestown High School in2007 and St. John Fisher College in 2010. He became a middle school science teacher and while teaching, he earned his Masters of Science Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. As an advocate for science, technology and math education programs in schools, Eddie was recognized by his school as Educator of the Year in 2011, having introduced exploratory science labs in his classroom.
Eddie returned to Western New York in 2012 when he was accepted at the University at Buffalo School of Law Program, where he was an advocate for children and families, working with the Buffalo community to develop alternatives to school suspension and discipline programs.
Eddie graduated in 2015 with his Juris Doctorate from the University at Buffalo School of Law and returned to Jamestown to practice law with Lewis & Lewis, P.C. He was elected Mayor of the City of Jamestown in November of 2019 and took office as the City’s 25th Mayor in January of 2020.
