Daniel Heitzenrater introduced Noel Guttman – Chautauqua County Director of Emergency Services & Fire Coordinator with 32 years experience.
 
Chautauqua County has 42 fire depts. – 2 are career, meaning paid. About 90% of all fire depts. are all volunteer. New York State has brought forth incentives if you join a fire service, $200 tax incentive as well as a tax credit trying to keep fire dept. members.
80-85% of the callouts are Emergency services NOT fires; including water rescue, and technical rescue. Joining the fire department at an early age often leads to careers in the medical fields.
 
Chautauqua County Emergency Services now has a free APP for weather, traffic, public safety, power outages, etc.
 
Total solar eclipse next year in April will not be a threat, but 50,000 to 150,000 people will be in our county to watch. April 8, 2024. WE ALL NEED TO BE PREPARED FOR THE LARGEST MASS TRAVEL DAY.
 
Areas who plan for this can really make a great deal of revenue with no difficulty.
