Sue Jones introduced our own John Felton, CEO of Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union (SCFCU). The SCFCU had its beginnings in his parent’s family room and has become a five location (soon to be six) location Credit Union serving our area. Its mission is to serve working families (also known as (ALICE families- Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) with a current membership of 21,500 and is ranked in the top 5 credit unions in Western New York, with $165 million in assets.
Caitlin introduced our speaker Carol Markham from Everwild Land Trust (formerly known as Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy). Her topic is Yard Smarts: From Lawn to Living Landscape. Carol Markham is the Conservationist at Everwild Land Trust. She holds a B.S. in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University and an M.S. in Fisheries Management from Ohio State University. She spent nine years as a Natural Resources Biologist for the State of Maryland, specializing in fish stock assessment in Chesapeake Bay, where she also developed a strong interest in botany.
